last week of school

Lucy loved the "last week of school," because for her that meant birthday week. We started a tradition a few years ago called "birthday bag."

Instead of getting all their presents at once, each morning, when the birthday child wakes up, the birthday bag is sitting in their room with a present inside.

I love it because it gives them a chance to really enjoy each present and spread the celebration out.

Another highlight that week was watching Spencer perform as a mime in his 5th grade variety show. He came up with the routine and costume on his own, and did a great job. Now he's on to middle school.
